Fred earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Augustana College, in Rock Island, Illinois, his Master of Divinity degree in Pastoral Care and Counseling from Wartburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa; and completed Harvard University’s In Residence Advanced Management Program. He completed his clinical internships at Texas Department of Corrections and Texas Children’s Hospital.

He has earned coaching Certificates in Leadership and Advance Leadership Coaching; Team Coaching; and Use of Assessment Tools in Coaching.

Fred is the founder and managing partner for FAME Enterprises, LLC which he formed in 2002. Prior to forming his own firm, Fred held increasing management responsibility for Nordson Corporation, a billion dollar capital goods manufacturing firm, from which he retired in 2001, as President of one of their West Coast divisions.

Fred is married to his wife, Maggie, and they have 5 children and ten grandchildren.
